Better Place is the high-profile company determined to make the electric car a viable alternative to the combustion engine. I helped them create a brand video that explained why they exist and why people who care about our economy and environment should get involved.
At this time, Israel, Denmark, Australia, the State of California and the State of Hawaii have developed initiatives for a sustainable transportation model that includes the participation of Better Place to create the infrastructure for electric vehicles currenly being manufactured by Nissan Motor Company.
To help celebrate the fifth anniversary of the second-most downloaded web browser, I was hired to write a two-minute video that inspired Firefox users and developers everywhere to "Light the World with Firefox."
The SFCVB wanted a memorable way to promote San Francisco as a business and tourist destination. I concepted a person named Riley who "loses" a dayplanner chock full of interesting things to do in the San Francisco Bay Area. The lost dayplanner also becomes the basis for a fun and casual correspondence between Riley ("your friend in The City") and the person who finds it.
In 2003, the "Life of Riley" e-mail campaign won California Tourism’s prestigious Best Electronic Promotion Award. The yearly budget was roughly $20,000. The gross estimated economic impact of the program after just seven issues (one sent every six to eight weeks) was $3,720,000 for 1,627 influenced trips with 88% staying overnight in a local hotel.
The company specialized in a software testing approach that focused on software requirements and logic flow. Their approach eliminated programming bugs at the very start of the software development process, when it's most important and economical. I re-named the company "Critical Logic" and gave them the tag line, "Right from the Start."
A software company named True Context had created an on-demand mobile solution for field service, sales, and data collection which eliminated paperwork and helped businesses speed the completion, reporting, and billing of a range of field activities. Being all about speed, I named it "Pronto." The industry templates used are called "Prontoforms." It is currently an application that works across Windows Mobile Devices, Blackberry PDAs and iPhones.
Once named Lenders for Community Development, they are one of the nation's most successful microlending organizations, dedicated to encouraging small business owners with loans and other programs that help them realize their dreams. I also wrote the tagline, "Working Capital for Working People."
I created my own website. Such is the power of a Community College night class and a dog-eared, used textbook. If this site isn't working properly, I will e-mail a complaint to myself and hope that I fix it before it makes me look bad.
